I am  an adolescent, young adult, adult and family therapist, with over 15 years of clinical work in schools, medical and psychiatric hospitals, and private practice.  My approach to treatment is individually tailored to meet  the specific needs of the client and/or family.  The ultimate goal of  treatment is  to help the adolescent or adult develop coping strategies to improve confidence, quality of life, and expression of emotion. 

I utilize a variety of behavioral and strength based therapeutic approaches tailored to the specific needs of the individual, including parent training and counseling.   I am certified and experienced in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).  CBT is a highly successful, research-based treatment modality aimed at addressing distorted cognitions, behaviors and emotions while encouraging active, collaborative work with the therapist.   I educate clients about their specific mental health challenges, so that clients truly understand themselves and their specific issues.  We then, together, develop a "tool box" of strategies to help clients manage individual symptoms.  These are lifetime skills and strategies that will help individuals live a much more authentic, happy and fulfilled life.
